It’s the season of gratitude and we’re grateful for our incredible staff and faculty. Simply put, Wolf would not be Wolf without them and we’re grateful for a chance to showcase them. This month, learn all about our new Teacher Assistant, Eryn Aldrich in our latest We Are Wolf interview!
1. Can you briefly tell us about your background before coming to Wolf?
Before Wolf, I studied Human Development and Family Sciences at URI. During college, I worked in an infant room for about two years before starting a career in home-based ABA therapy. I did that for a few years and then transitioned into ABA classrooms in both elementary schools and middle schools.
2. What motivated you to want to work with Complex Learners?
I was motivated to work with Complex Learners when I began seeing the difference I could make for children and their families. Through home-based therapy experiences, I was able to really get to know my clients and their families and see firsthand just how much a good support system can do for a Complex Learner. It’s so much fun to be able to try new ways to teach and learn in order to best meet a student’s needs.
3. You began at Wolf during our summer program, Camp Confidence. What was that experience like?
Joining Wolf during the Camp Confidence summer program was a great way to ease into a new position. I had no experience working with the Immersion ModelĀ© prior to working at Wolf. Getting to see what that looks like and being a part of it myself before the school year started was awesome. It made the start of the full school year feel less daunting for me. The summer program also gave me great opportunities to do so many fun activities while building rapport with the new students I was meeting!
4. What has been your favorite part about working at Wolf so far?
My favorite part about working at Wolf so far has been getting to know all the students. The Wolf School community is full of amazing students with amazing personalities. They are so loving and truly excited to be here, which makes it even more fun for me!
5. What was your favorite subject when you were in school? Why?
When I was in school, my favorite subject was always language arts. I love reading and was fortunate to have some great English teachers who opened my world up to so much exciting literature. Math and Science have never been my strongest subjects, but I always felt confident in my English classes, and really enjoyed them!
Welcome to Wolf, Eryn! Your energy, compassion, and dedication to your students have already made you an incredible addition to our community. We’re thrilled to have you at Wolf! To learn more about other Wolf Staff, read some of our past We Are Wolf interviews!
