In this month’s We Are Wolf interview, learn all about Jen Sparr. Jen joined The Wolf School community in 2010 and has worked as our beloved school nurse ever since!
1. Can you share a bit about your background and how you ended up at Wolf?
I ended up at The Wolf School 15 years ago, after working for many years in various hospitals in multiple settings, including the trauma unit, vascular radiology, and surgical ICU. I then did some case management in the hospital for BCBS. My friend Mara worked at the Wolf School, and she told me about a job opportunity available at Wolf.
2. What motivated you to want to work in a school setting?
I have always loved working with children, and after having my own children, I was looking for a routine that was more conducive to me being able to be home when my children came home from school. When I learned about the Wolf School, I fell in love.
3. What is the most rewarding part of your job/time at Wolf?
The most rewarding, best part of my job is being able to take care of the amazing students at Wolf. I love getting to know each student and being able to provide comfort when they are not feeling their best.
4. What is your favorite summertime activity?
My favorite summer activity is being in Newport with my family and watching my son play baseball.
Jen, we are so grateful for your continued dedication and compassion for our students, families, and staff. You are a source of comfort and a trusted expert and we are lucky to have you at Wolf!
