It’s a new school year at Wolf! In addition to new families joining our community, we are thrilled to welcome new staff members to our team. We’ll be introducing each of them over the next few months. Today, get to know Charisa Ebert, a Speech & Language Pathologist at Wolf!

1. Can you briefly tell us about your background?

I have 5 years of experience working with primarily pediatric clients. My areas of interest include AAC, gestalt language processing (GLP), and neurodiverse populations. I believe connection is the basis of communication and therapy should always be fun!

2. What inspired you to pursue a career as an SLP?

I’ve always wanted to work with kids and I had speech therapy as a young child for stuttering. I observed an OT and an SLP in high school and fell in love with speech (but I love the field of OT as well).

3. What is your favorite part about working with Complex Learners?

They teach me just as much as I teach them! 

4. What do you think is the most misunderstood part about being an SLP?

Our scope of practice! The range is huge, and it’s way more than just “fixing R’s.”

5. What’s your idea of a perfect weekend?

Coffee shop, walk, farmer’s market/antiquing, Sunday reset (and football if it’s the right season).
