Jr. Ryder Cup Player Patrick Welch Makes a Difference on the Course

img_33761

Patrick Welch is an impressive 16-year-old, already making waves in the golf circuit as one of the top junior golfers in the country and the first Rhode Islander to represent Team USA at this year’s upcoming Jr. Ryder Cup. But ask Patrick who he thinks is impressive, and he will point to his brother Jack, a 5th grader making his own strides at The Wolf School in East Providence.

Since starting at Wolf in second grade, Jack has been making amazing academic and social gains. Jack is proud of Patrick’s accomplishments on the golf course and Patrick is equally proud of Jack’s hard work and success at Wolf.

The brothers will be together for The Wolf School’s third annual Golf Outing on Tuesday, September 20th at the acclaimed Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, RI. Patrick will tee off for golfers as a way to raise money for Wolf, and later he will join his brother, as well as other Wolf students, at a one-hour Putt & Chip Clinic sponsored by Wannamoisett.

Patrick is no stranger to playing at Wannamoisett Country Club as he qualified there for the Jr. Ryder Cup. Patrick has also witnessed firsthand the impact The Wolf School has on students and families, so it’s a perfect connection. We are ecstatic to have such a talented player and dedicated big brother join us at our annual fundraising event, especially given he leaves for the Jr. Ryder Cup only a few days after the Outing. Everyone at The Wolf School wishes this generous, thoughtful and talented young man the best of luck at the Jr. Ryder Cup.
