At the national conference for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Wolf faculty members presented a Poster Session on gains made by Wolf Students in Social Thinking®.

Utilizing Social Thinking concepts and curriculum developed by Michelle Garcia Winner, Wolf faculty teach students about interactions with others and how to better understand and respond to thoughts, emotions, and intentions. Speech and Language Therapy Supervisor, Anissa Khouri, along with Speech and Language Therapists Rachel Best and Leah Garvey, collected data on eleven students over three years that demonstrated marked improvements in Social Thinking.

According to Anissa Khouri, “Exposure to Social Thinking school-wide through Wolf’s Immersion Model improves our students’ ability to understand and demonstrate the nuances of social communication and interactions. This not only improves a student’s ability to focus and attend in the classroom setting but also makes daily life easier to enjoy and negotiate.”
