Harriet Tubman. Ruby Bridges. Frida Kahlo. These are just some of the extraordinary women Room 8 students studied during their Women in History unit. Students were each assigned an important woman in history to research. After learning about their subject’s life and work, each student wrote a presentation about them.
Students then came together to work as a group on a culminating project- a multi-paneled banner featuring portraits of the important women they had studied. Students colored and then constructed this poster which they proudly hung up in their classroom. Take a look at the slideshow below to see the progression of the project.
