“Comic Re-Leaf Books”

Room 2 students gathered leaves from around campus and used them as inspiration for original characters. After drawing on scans, students chose jokes and assembled the characters. The final step was to print the leaves onto construction paper for the cover.

Sgraffito Cups

Room 2 students practiced making pinch pots, and learned about the process of “sgraffito,” or “scratched” in Italian. Once the glaze has been applied to leather-hard clay, designs are carved directly into the clay.

Students in Room 2 learned about multiple weaving processes and learned how to weave on a cardboard loom.
