Since joining Wolf in 2006, our Chief Business Officer, Lynne Manchester, has been an invaluable asset to our community and our school. Her expertise and dedication has helped ensure that Wolf continues to grow and thrive year after year. As she prepares to retire from Wolf at the end of this school year, she is still working hard to ensure that Wolf is set up for future success by working directly with our new Director of Finance, Alyssa Marton. We are so grateful to Lynne’s years of dedication to Wolf and know that even after retirement, she’ll continue to be a treasured member of our community.
While we prepare to say farewell to Lynne, we’d like to also take some time to welcome Alyssa! This month, we’re introducing you to Alyssa in our latest We Are Wolf interview. Learn more about her below!

1. Can you briefly tell us about your background?
I grew up in a suburb of Buffalo, NY, and came to Rhode Island to attend Providence College. I was drawn to the hands-on Public & Community Service major, the first of its kind in the country, which provided me with opportunities to work closely with faculty and community partners to create positive social change. I worked as a teaching assistant at Lincoln School for two years before returning to PC to earn my MBA while working in the Office of Academic Affairs. I was fortunate to also teach as an adjunct in the public service department, bringing things full circle.
After more than a decade in faculty development, I left PC to serve as the Director of Operations for Brown RISD Hillel for six years. In that role, I oversaw finance, human resources, building and security management, and event logistics. When the opportunity at Wolf came across my desk, I knew it was the right fit, and I’m thrilled to be here!
2. What motivated you to want to work in a school setting?
I have always loved the cyclical nature of a school setting – the ebb and flow of different parts of the academic year. I also truly enjoy the vibrant energy that comes from students, no matter their age.
3. What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is the variety. There is always something new to learn, and I am never bored. I thrive on routine, but I also like that no two days are the same.
4. What has been your favorite thing about working at Wolf so far?
Hands down- the people! I have been so impressed by how friendly and welcoming everyone has been. I love the camaraderie and the chance to connect with colleagues. When I am able to attend All School Assembly, I really enjoy hearing the students’ presentations and seeing how warm and supportive the students and teachers are to each other.
5. Where is your dream travel destination?
This is a tough one- I have a long list! During the winter months, I can’t help but daydream about traveling to Portugal and Spain to experience the culture, scenery, history, and amazing food!
Welcome to Wolf, Alyssa! We are so grateful to have her expertise and enthusiasm as part of our community! To learn more about other Wolf Staff, read some of our past We Are Wolf interviews!
