SENSORY CHALLENGES AND SENSIBLE SOLUTIONS

The Wolf School hosts international speaker and author Carol Stock Kranowitz for “Sensory Challenges and Sensible Solutions.” Some children resist participating in family and school activities or respond in unusual ways to ordinary sensations of touch and movement, sights and sounds. Because of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), they don’t behave as we expect – not because they won’t, but because they can’t. And then, they grow up. Therapists, parents, teachers, and other professionals who care for these individuals can deal with their out-of-sync behavior by incorporating “just-right” sensory experiences into their daily life.

About the Speaker: Carol Stock Kranowitz, M.A. speaks internationally about Sensory Processing Disorder’s effects on children’s learning and behavior and how families, teachers, therapists and other professionals can support children as they grow. Best known for her book The Out-of-Sync Child and more recently, The Out-of-Sync Child Grows Up, Carol is also a board member of the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. ATTENDANCE IS FREE BUT SEATS ARE LIMITED. RSVP

Carol Stock Kranowitz will have books available for purchase and signing at the event.
